BIKE 90km

The bike course begins at Larvotto - you ride 2 km in the Principality of Monaco in the direction of the Roquebrune Cap-Martin then continue through to the hinterland.

Keep in mind : Temperatures can vary between 25 to 33 degrees Celsius on race day. You enter in the transition area from the East side.

Bike circuit

During the 90km, you will discover the gorgeous and picturesque villages; each of them is an invitation to a journey into a colourful past. However, the bike circuit of the Monaco Ironman 70.3 is also known for its technical side and sometimes dangerous. Consequently, keep always the right side of the road and respect the traffic law.

We suggest that you download the road guide as well as the maps available at the bottom of this page. You will find all the suggested times that athletes will pass through the villages : important information for you and for yours supporters !

Bike circuit altitude


Percentage of hill slope :


  • Hill 1 : from Monaco to col de Guerre : average 5,6% with harder gradient around 5,7%.  
  • Hill 2 : from la Pointe to col de Calaisson : average 5,6% with harder gradient around 6,5%.  
  • Hill 3 : from la Trinité to la Turbie : average 4,35% with harder gradient around 7,1%.

    Our race director recommends you the following gear:

  • Chain ring à 39/52
  • Cassette of 12/25 if you feel very strong, 12/27 for the others.

    Bike Aid Stations

    The 90 Km of the Bike circuit offers 4 aid stations. Each of them will have products to assist your body at the different stages of the race. For more information, read the article "Aid stations".
     
    A waste program will be available all along your Ironman adventure. Respect your environment by throwing your cans in the 4Vita ecozones. You will see big white and green cages before and after each bike aid stations. We are counting on you. Show you care !
